Ordering Plants from Okanoka
Where is Okanoka based?
Okanoka is based in Indonesia. We work with Indonesian nurseries and growers and prepare live tropical plants for domestic and international customers.
Are your plants taken from the jungle?
No. The plants sold through Okanoka are sourced from nurseries and growers. “Plants from Indonesia” means plants grown and sourced through the plant-growing community here — not plants taken from forests.
If you would like to know how Okanoka started, meet the people behind the business, and meet our very serious team of greenhouse cat inspectors, visit Our Story.
Do you sell only to collectors?
No. We work with individual plant lovers and collectors as well as shops, nurseries, retailers, importers, and larger-volume buyers. If you are planning a larger order, contact us so we can discuss the plants and shipping arrangement that fits your order.
Where can I see the plants currently available?
Browse our Shop All Plants collection for current availability, or check New Arrivals for recently added plants.
International Plant Shipping
Do you ship plants internationally?
Yes. Okanoka ships live plants internationally from Indonesia. Based on our recorded shipment history from 2023–2026, we have reached 38+ countries.
Import rules are different in every country, and not every plant or shipping method is eligible for every destination. You can see destinations from our recorded shipping history on Where We’ve Shipped.
What if my country is not listed on Where We’ve Shipped?
That does not automatically mean we cannot ship there. Contact us before ordering and tell us your country and the plants you are interested in. We can review the shipping route from our side, while destination-country import requirements still need to be considered.
How are plants prepared for international shipping?
International orders are prepared specifically for export. Plants are checked, cleaned, prepared for plant quarantine inspection, documented, packed, and arranged for international transit.
For the complete process, see How Shipping Works.
Are plants shipped with soil?
No. International plant orders are shipped bare-root in sphagnum moss, not in their original growing soil.
What is a Phytosanitary Certificate?
A Phytosanitary Certificate is plant-health documentation issued after the required Indonesian Plant Quarantine inspection. Okanoka coordinates the export-side quarantine and phytosanitary preparation for eligible international plant shipments.
Do I need an import permit?
It depends on your destination and the shipping option you choose. For regular international shipping, the buyer may need to provide an import permit or other destination-country documentation when required.
For Okanoka’s USA Group Shipping and Canada Group Shipping, customers do not need to provide their own personal import permit for the group-shipping arrangement.
How long does it take before my plants are shipped?
Live-plant export orders are not ordinary same-day parcels. Before dispatch, plants may need export preparation, quarantine inspection, phytosanitary documentation, packing, and shipment scheduling.
Regular international shipments and Group Shipping follow different timelines. Group Shipping waits for a scheduled consolidation date, so please ask us about the next shipment if timing is important.
Will I receive tracking?
Yes. Tracking information is provided after the international shipment is dispatched and a tracking number is available for the shipping route used.
USA Shipping
Can you ship live plants from Indonesia to the United States?
Yes. Okanoka offers Regular International Shipping and USA Group Shipping for U.S. customers.
What is USA Group Shipping?
USA Group Shipping combines multiple customer orders into one scheduled international shipment. Okanoka coordinates the group import process and, after the required U.S. import process, each customer’s order is forwarded domestically.
It is designed for customers who want a simpler option and do not want to arrange their own personal import permit and forwarding process.
How much is USA Group Shipping?
The current USA Group Shipping rate is $15 USD per plant. For U.S. domestic delivery, orders of 1–6 plants are +$20 USD per package, while 7+ plants receive free U.S. domestic delivery.
The import tax handled through the group shipment is included. For full pricing, examples, and the difference between regular and group shipping, see Shipping Plants to the USA from Indonesia.
I already paid shipping at checkout. Do I pay it again for USA Group Shipping?
No. The shipping amount you already paid on Okanoka.com is credited toward your USA Group Shipping charge. We calculate the Group Shipping amount, apply your website shipping payment as a credit, and then confirm any remaining balance.
Do I need my own USDA import permit for USA Group Shipping?
No. Customers joining Okanoka USA Group Shipping do not need to provide their own personal import permit. Regular International Shipping is different and may require buyer-provided U.S. import documentation depending on the shipment and current requirements.

Canada Group Shipping
Can you ship plants from Indonesia to Canada?
Yes. Canada is an established Okanoka destination, and Canadian customers can use our scheduled Canada Group Shipping service.
Do I need my own personal import permit for Canada Group Shipping?
No. Customers using Okanoka Canada Group Shipping do not need to arrange their own personal import permit. Okanoka coordinates the import arrangement used for the consolidated shipment.
I already paid shipping at checkout. What happens to that payment?
The shipping amount already paid on Okanoka.com is counted toward your Canada Group Shipping fee. It is not ignored or charged twice. We calculate your Group Shipping amount, apply the website shipping payment as a credit, and confirm any remaining amount.
Are Canadian import tax and related import fees included?
Yes. The Canadian import tax and related import-processing fees handled as part of the Group Shipping arrangement are included in the Group Shipping fee.
How long does Canada Group Shipping take after dispatch?
Once the consolidated shipment has been dispatched from Indonesia, delivery to your Canadian home address typically takes around 5–8 days, depending on your location and the domestic delivery distance in Canada.
Is Canada Group Shipping available every month?
Not necessarily. Canada Group Shipping runs on scheduled consolidation dates rather than a guaranteed monthly schedule. Contact us for the next available shipment.
Current Canada Group Shipping pricing, domestic delivery rules, and the full process are explained on Canada Group Shipping: Plants from Indonesia.
Group Shipping Questions
How do I join a Group Shipment?
Choose your plants and check out normally on Okanoka.com, then let us know that you want to join the next USA or Canada Group Shipping cycle. We will confirm the schedule and calculate the Group Shipping amount, including the credit for shipping already paid at checkout.
Can I include plants purchased from another Indonesian seller?
Eligible plants purchased from other Indonesian sellers may also be included in an Okanoka USA or Canada Group Shipment. Please contact us before arranging delivery from another seller so we can confirm the plants, quantity, procedure, and timing.
Why use Group Shipping?
Group Shipping is for customers who want Okanoka to coordinate more of the international import process instead of arranging each step individually. It can be especially useful if the permit and forwarding side of importing plants feels complicated.
The service follows scheduled consolidation dates, so it is best to ask us about the next shipment when planning your order.
After Your Plants Arrive
Your plant has just completed a long international journey, so a little travel stress can be normal. We now have a dedicated guide covering what to prepare before delivery, how to unbox, how to inspect roots and growing points, what can be normal shipping stress, and how to help the plant settle in.

Can plants look stressed after international shipping?
Yes. Live plants can show travel stress after spending several days packed in the dark and moving between different temperatures and environments. Some yellowing, drooping, leaf loss, or cosmetic damage can happen even when the plant is still viable.
Try not to judge the whole plant from one tired leaf. Check the roots, stem, rhizome, corm, node, or growing point and give the plant stable conditions and time to adjust.
What should I prepare before my plants arrive?
Prepare a clean workspace, clean cutting tools, room-temperature water, fresh growing medium, a pot with drainage, and a warm place with bright indirect light. It is also helpful to have a separate observation area away from your established collection and your phone ready to document the unboxing.
The full preparation checklist is on our After Your Plants Arrive guide.
What should I do if there is a serious problem with my order?
Please document the package and plants as soon as you open them and contact Okanoka promptly. If possible, take clear photos before trimming roots or making major changes to the plant.
The current evidence requirements, claim window, exclusions, refund terms, and replacement terms are listed in our Refund Policy.
Can I See Your Shipping History and Customer Reviews?

Still Not Sure?
You do not need to understand every part of international plant shipping before choosing a plant.
If you are unsure about your destination, permit requirements, Group Shipping, or which shipping method fits your order, send us a message before dispatch. Tell us where you are, which plants you want, and approximately how many plants you are considering.
We will help explain the Okanoka side of the process as clearly as we can.
